I don’t aspire to great wealth — probably a good thing at the rate it’s going — but I just want to be able to hire out interior painting.  My little penny-pinching soul just can’t seem to come up with the money to pay someone to paint my bathroom and bedroom. Instead The Girl and I have spent two days stripping wall paper, spackling, and sanding. We still have more sanding and then taping and then priming and then painting and doing all that horrid trim work. I’m not good at it, therefore, I don’t like to do it. And no thank-you, I don’t want to keep working at it til I improve.

Whew! It’s a relief to go to work this morning. At least I don’t have to face that bathroom…until The Girl gets home from school and cracks her project whip. :

  1. Ahem. This message is for The Girl.

Crack that whip, sweetie! Make your mother paint those walls! (And while you’re all into the home improvement thing, make her paint her bedroom as well. That one wall–you know, the one she’s "test painted"–is driving me crazy. ) :hehe:

  3. Traitors!! All of you. :P And for the record, before her sweet feet even hit the front porch after she got off the school bus, she said, "Ready to work on the bathroom, mommy?" "Well, baby, I can do that or make lasagna for dinner." Girl, much like the dogs in this house, is very food motivated. We’re dining on lasagna tonight. BTW, Rhonda, got another test color on the bedroom wall. Bwahahahaha.

  4. Ack! No, no, no! Pick a color already and stop marking up the walls! This would drive me postitively nuts. How do you sleep in there knowing that your color palette is all wrong???

  5. I sleep fine, given that I have an amazing ability to sleep almost anywhere. Slept in a hammock in Puerto Angel, in a cave once inhabited by monks in Acapulco–but I digress. YOU can sleep easier tonight knowing I have chosen a color. Laura Ashley Home Sand 3, LA809. Whew!! My bedroom and bath will be that lovely sand color with no color swatches painted on the wall by the time you come for National..
