First there was Tom jumping up and down with a total lack of any dignity on Oprah’s couch. :[ Then there was Mel whose dignity obviously drowned in his last glass of Gray Goose. (n) Now Robin Williams is checking into detox.:o Is this an on-going cautionary tale regarding fame? All I can say is if Tom Hanks ever goes that route I’ll be completely crushed. (u)

I guess they are just human like us. I’m not attached to any of them. However, if the guy from House or Bones were in that situation, I would be saying a little prayer for them. Have a great day and the story about the mouse was funny. Especially as it wasn’t me :p

Well, Robin Williams spent ten years on cocaine, lol, it’s not a shock that he’d slip someday. Any idea what the detox is for? :)
Smooches,
Dee

Dee, Robin is detoxing from alcohol as well. :(

Ginger, I know they’re human but truly, none of my friends have checked into detox. I think it’s the toll of the lifestyle or fame or such.
Okay, Dee and Angie, you just verified what I’ve thought for a long time. Williams is brilliant on-screen and he must be hell to live with because all that manic humor has to have an equalizing down side.
Robin gets my sympathy vote because I think he’s organically, or perhaps chemically enhanced, brilliant. Tom and Mel are just average Joe’s who traded on looking good and took a walk to the extreme side, imo.
And I happen to think Tom Hanks. Ron Howard, and Liam Neeson are all brilliant and men of substance. Oh, yeah. and Colin Firth. I’ll be shaking my head and taking to my bed if any of them go off their rocker.

Oh, totally. I mean, Robin Williams actually is brilliant without the enhancement, the problem is that he’s expected to be manic for several hours at a time…for thirty years, lol, and he’s said when he quit coke, he had to pick it up some other way and took up an espresso habit. I’d bet he took up drinking to come DOWN.
Here’s wishing him luck!

Robin Williams on expresso! I’m thinking that’d advance him from quick-witted to … wow, mind-boggling. :p
