Happy Birthday to Me, Happy Birthday to Me, Happy Birthday dear Meeeee, Happy Birthday to Me.(8)
And you should be grateful you’re reading it rather than hearing it — ouch.:p
Today, however, is in fact, the momentous occasion of my birth xx years ago. What? Ya think I’m gonna post my age on the freaking world wide web? Not hardly. Just know it’s over twenty and under sixty.8)
And that doesn’t really matter cause it’s just a number. What matters is that I took a moment to reflect on my life this morning and all my blessings. They’re numerous. It’s cliche but true that my life is rich with truly wonderful friends, a loving family which includes our cat and three dogs, my health, and a great job.
I’ve gotten cards and presents from friends and family via snail mail and email throughout the week. Today I’ll celebrate by getting my car’s emissions and my license tag renewal (hey, at least I have a car, that’s the way I’m looking at it) and working on the book that I’m lucky enough to be contracted to write.
Tonight I’ve already planned my birthday dinner, as requested by the fam. Marietta Diner — half a Reuben, might even splurge and eat the whole thing if I work in a three-mile run this afternoon, a beer, and a slice of coconut cream pie.(b)(^) If you’re ever in the neighborhood take note that Marietta Diner has the best coconut cream pie in the universe.
Tomorrow I’m going to lunch with two friends, and tomorrow night is dinner with another good friend. For today, and we’ll stretch it to tomorrow, I’m queen of my little universe.:d

Oh, splurge, woman! Your birthday comes only once a year! Enjoy the day absolutely guilt-free. You know you deserve it!

(^) Happy birthday! Enjoy the day. And I’m going to have to tell my nephew about the Marietta Diner. He’s a junior at Tech and loves to eat at the local places.

Thank you, thank you! And I’ve been waiting months to use that birthday cake icon. :d (^)
Marilyn, definitely send him that way. It’s a haul out to the burbs for him but it’s just off I-75 so he can just zip up the interstate. Open 24 hours. They serve EVERYTHING. I’ve never had anything that wasn’t good there and the portions are HUGE. And they have an entire two CASES of homemade desserts which are also HUGE to choose from.

(^) Happy Birthday and many, many more. I don’t mind telling my age, 45. I am very thankful to be that and pray that the good Lord sees fit to many, many more. Have a fantastic Friday and weekend.

Why haven’t you taken me to the Marietta Diner? I missed the cake icon, so I’m using it now. (^)

Okay, Ginger, I’ll fess up — heck it’s not as if everyone hasn’t seen my pics on the website. I’m now officially 45 as well. (y)
Darlin’ Rhonda, we are always rushing to get somewhere else when you’re here. I’ve never taken you to Tiffaany’s Tea Room either and I can guarantee you’d love it. I think this means you have to plan a trip over where all we do is eat for a couple of days.
Thanks, Barbara! (*)

Thanks, Jill! :)
Hey, Ellen, come on down. Sevenish. I’ll even share my coconut pie with you
— and you know there aren’t many people I’d do that for.
