Hope everyone’s off to a marvelous Monday! Just want to take a moment to say a whopping, huge THANK YOU to all romance readers. I attended a reader’s luncheon this week-end. What a really nice group of people. And the bottom line is that without you, I don’t have a job.:s So, to every romance reader who stops by my website today, thank you. I’m unofficially deeming this Reader Appreciation Day!
In fact, and I hadn’t planned to do this when I sat down to blog, but I’m going to give away some books! (g) Tell me in the comments section of this blog which book you want from my backstock and then drop me your snail mail addy at jennifer@jenniferlabrecque.com and I’ll send the first 12 respondents the book of their choice (well, that I wrote :p). Oh, yeah, I can’t give away Barely Mistaken or Really Hot! cause I’m out of them. You can bop over to the Books section and scroll through and read excerpts but I’ll make it easy and list them for you here.
ANDREW IN EXCESS — My first born…uh I mean first book. Marriage of convenience. I still love this book. It’s a romantic comedy and the sizzle factor won’t make you blush. I won the Notable New Author of the Year Award with this one.
KIDS + COPS = CHAOS — Six years later I still wish they’d kept my original title, Undercover Nanny. Hero is a cop who has to go undercover as a nanny to three really precocious kids. Duct tape is involved in the first chapter — but this is a romantic comedy and not a Blaze, so it’s not what you’re probably thinking.:d But the handcuffs…that’s exactly what you’re thinking.
JINGLE BELL BRIDE? — I was nominated for a RITA and won the Maggie with this runaway bride story. The bride heads off for the honeymoon with the limo driver when she discovers her daddy bought her bridegroom with prize bull sperm. It’s way fun! (*)
BARELY MISTAKEN — My first Temptation. Wrong Bed story. One woman, two brothers. I don’t think I have to say anything past that. OOPS. Sorry. I don’t have any copies to give away.:[
BARELY DECENT — Another Temptation. Best friends to lovers. And there’s a reason they put flashed it on the front cover as a “Heat”. :x
BARELY BEHAVING — This book’s a little off the beaten path. Opening scene: Heroine is getting her third set of divorce papers. (u) I also call this “the dog book” because there’s lots of dogs in it because the hero is a vet. (&
This book was nominated by RT for a Reviewer’s Choice Award.
BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE — Wrong Bed story. Two ad execs, one promotion, and a little case of mistaken identity by the heroine….The dialogue in this books still makes me smile.:)
GETTING REAL — Reality t.v. anthology with Vicki Lewis Thompson and Julie Elizabeth Leto. Lots of fun. My heroine thinks she’s taping a show called the Single Girl where she gets to choose from a dozen bachelors. In reality, they’ll air the show as The Last Virgin. Yep, you can figure out she might have a little problem when she figures out the real angle of the show.:o
REALLY HOT! — Another of those off the beaten path books. Met both the heroine and hero in Getting Real. And it was a RITA nominee last year. Heroine is a single mom who got pregnant as a teen-ager. Heroine is a hunk who’s really just a geek at heart. Set on a reality t.v. show. It is hot and I’m out of it so I can’t send it to anyone but it deserved a mention.;(
DARING IN THE DARK — My first Blaze!! And I absolutely love this book. Dark brooding hero in love with his best friend’s fiance, trapped with her during a NYC blackout. (y) I was inspired to write this after watching Love Actually. Oh, yeah, and there’s one cool cat in there.(@)
ANTICIPATION — A Wrong Bed Blaze! Hero is the brother from Really Hot. A matter of mistaken identity and the heroine is a cop undercover as a dominatrix and well…there you have it.:x:x
HIGHLAND FLING — A Time Travel Blaze. Hero is an 18th century Highland chieftan, heroine is a 21st century emergency room physician. I’m still more than a little in love with Darach MacTavish.(f)
THREE GUYS YOU’LL NEVER DATE — A fun anthology with Stephanie Bond and Rhonda Nelson. My story is a Pygmalion story where the hero wants to be saved from his geekiness. I’d wanted to write this for forever. It’s fun!8)
Okay, so first twelve to post it get it.(g) Send a friend and then swap off reads. And once again, thank you for reading and loving romance.
And yes, I am fond of the icons today….:)

Thanks Jen for this appreciation day!

Got you all down with your preferences! Uh…we know I’m a bit of a procrastinator so it’ll probably take me a few days to make it to the mail. :)
In the meantime, I’m going to leave this open. Send a friend. Six slots left to receive a freebie. I’ll check back over the next couple of days.

Don’t include me in the giveaway, Jen, but I just wanted to pop in and comment on some of your titles. :)
Kids+Cops=Chaos — I don’t think I edited this (erm, it’s a little while back now), but I know I wrote the page one blurb. And the cover was *adorable*!
Really Hot! — *such* a fun book! LOVE the cover, loved working on it!
I am so proud of that book…!
Daring in the Dark — equally amazing. So totally enjoyed working on that one, too…
and
Highland Fling — what can we say about Darach?? Whew!
Just promise me you’ll keep ‘em coming, okay? (d)

Rhonda sent me over here, so if I can, I’d like the anthology with you both in it.
And I LOVED Daring in the Dark. It’s on my keeper shelf.

Alyssa, I love them too! I’ve got you covered on the anthology. And I have you down for a copy, Kimberly. Thank you because I love Daring in the Dark as well. :)
Kris, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE having you work on my books. You always make them better–much better. (y) And I (l) the smiley faces you draw in the margins. :) I had no idea you did the blurb page on K+C=C (that is one cute cover) — I learn something new every day.
