I am a chicken when it comes to scary stuff. I can’t even watch a horror movie because then I won’t be able to sleep for a few nights. How bad is that? :s

The last Haunted House I went through scared me so bad that I sat down in the hallway and refused to move. After the line backed up far enough, one of the workers walked ahead of me and told all the scary folks to chill until I got through. I was about 15–not my coolest teen moment.

I don’t know exactly when my tastes changed or why. I know it was about the time I started reading more romance! :) The strange thing is, the true crime shows horrify me and make me paranoid, but it’s the horror movies that give me nightmares about those things happening to AC. Go figure. I’ll have nightmares about AC getting possessed by demons but not about serial killers. Hmmm.

(AC possessed by demons–that would actually explain some behavior of late…

Kimberly, whaddaya think changed it for you? I read The Other and couldn’t sleep for six months. I think that pretty much did it for me. And then when I was 16 I went through a “haunted” house with some friends. You know, one of those you paid admission to and they’d set up fake walls and stuff. Anyway, this gross thing jumped out and grabbed my arm — I went through the wall — literally. I was so scared, I knocked down their temporary wall to get out. :[ They weren’t very happy with me. Last time I went through one of those.

Right there with you. I don’t do horror anything–no books, no movies, no Halloween haunted houses (now, REAL haunted houses could be a different story).

Strange thing is, I LOVED horror stuff when I was in my teens–Stephen King was one of my favorite authors and I lived in the horror section of the bookstore. I watched every bloody scream movie made. Not now. I let DG talk me into watching The Ring a couple of years ago and I still get the willies just thinking about it.

Yet I’m oddly addicted to True Crime shows on Court TV and L&O shows. Hmmm.

I really am weird. :s
