12:30 a.m. Suitcase is packed for trip to Sedona. Soccer info for Girl for the weekend is clipped to refrigerator. Go to bed.
1 a.m. Too stoked about the trip to sleep. Get back up. Finish the book I’ve been reading. Back to bed at 2 a.m.
4:30 a.m. Alarm goes off. Up and getting ready. Leave for airport at 5:40.
Fly from Atlanta to Denver. 2-hour layover. Denver to Phoenix. Set clock back two hours because of time zone difference
2:00 p.m. (Arizona time) Vicki, who has driven two hours to get to Phoenix, and Rhonda, who has flown in from Alabama an hour and a half earlier, greet me. We’re all thrilled to see one another. I pick my bag up off of the luggage carousel and we leave.
5:00 p.m. Arrive at Sedona condo after stopping for lunch along the way.
5:30 p.m. Open suitcase to get notepads out that are gifts for Vicki and Rhonda. Where are my notepads? Why are there baby bibs in my suitcase? Maybe because it’s not my suitcase.
:cursing::wallbash:
Tearful confession to my buddies that I’m a d*&khead and have picked up the wrong suitcase. Numerous phone calls to airport and my baggage is tracked down. I’ve done a quick mental calculation and my suitcase probably has about $800 worth of shoes/jewelry/clothes in it. And somewhere a baby doesn’t have it’s bib or blankie cause I’ve got it.
6:30 p.m. Leave to drive from Sedona back to Phoenix airport.
10:00 p.m. Back to Sedona. Pour a BIG glass of wine.:fryingpan:

Not the best way to start off your weekend, huh? But at least you found your stuff and won’t be sending us to the Unclaimed Baggage Center to shop for your lost items!
*Note to self–big colorful luggage tags that say “JENNIFER” would be a good stocking stuffer…

I went through that once with my mom suitcase that had all her medications inside. It took us about 5 days to recuperate the suitcase. I really hate when that happens:|
I am glad that you got your suitcase back. :cooldance:

Kimberly, I really want the set of bright yellow Ralph Lauren luggage that I found at TJ Maxx :cooldance: butI suppose I should just get the bright tag for my old regular case, huh?
Thanks Ginger and Kim! Despite the auspicious start it was a WONDERFUL trip.
Oh, no, Barbara! Mine was nothing that really made a difference — actually if I hadn’t felt guilty about some poor baby missing her blankie, I would’ve just waited til Sunday to swap out the luggage and picked up a couple of tops and a pair of jeans at the outlet center — but medications are serious stuff. Five days without is a big deal.
Kim, the winners should be announced any day because I sent it to my webmistress last week.
