In a sudden onslaught of health-consciousness the DH has started working out and has given up the junk food. Hallelujah! In fact, mark it on the calendar, he actually ate some…fruit for breakfast.
Last night while Girl was at basketball practice. he and I went to the workout center together. Afterwards I went to pick Girl up and he was returning a movie to Blockbuster. Girl and I get back in the car and he’s alerting my Nextel.
DH: Hey, I’m over at the Steak-n-Shake drive-thru.
Me: What are you doing at Steak-n-Shake?
DH: I’m getting an eggnog milkshake. Does Girl want one?
Me: Why’re you getting a milkshake after you just worked out?
DH: The nutritionist at the workout center told me not to eat after 9 at night. He said have five small meals a day and a shake in the morning and a shake at night.
Me: (Girl and I look at one another and burst out laughing) Uh…I’m pretty sure he didn’t mean a Steak-n-Shake shake.
DH: But he said a shake in the morning and a shake at night.
Me: Slim-fast, babe. Nutritional shake with viamins and minerals.
DH: Oh. Well, this eggnog shake is really good.

Got to love him!

I had a co-worker who used to refer to fruit as the “F” word. :happy2:

I like his idea of a shake in the morning and at night.
And I know that’s not good for me either.

Willful misinterpretation of the rules is my specialty.
Thank you, Libral Arts education, for the amazing ability to twist pretty much anything… :happy2:

By the way, why didn’t he offer YOU one?

:happy2: Ginger. Where are you and my man gonna round up a shake at 7a.m?
Kimberly, my poor DH — when he came in sucking on his eggnog shake I pulled a can of Sllimfast out of the fridge. He demanded I show him where it said it was a shake on the can. Denial can be a powerful thing.
BTW, he didn’t offer me one cause he’s been married to me so long, he knows me too well. Eggnog milkshake = BLECH. I was much happier with my Leinenkugel Creamy Dark Lager. :thumbsup2:
(here’s my warped persepctive — all along I thought this emoticon was someone drinking a beer, never occurred to me it was a cup of coffee, so I’m just gonna stick with the mug o’barley pop delusion)

LOL - So I guess the nutritionist wasn’t refering to that ’shake’ that happens when I come down stairs in the morning, and again when I go back up at night…
I like your DH’s interpretation, though.
But wait. Is it possible… that one has caused the other?! :cursing: :wallbash:  (don’t they have bouble chocolate at S & Shake?) :cooldance:

Hey, Barbara, I’ll have the DH pick up an eggnog shake for you as well. :happy2:
Ellen, they do, in fact, have a yummy double chocolate shake at SNS. It is the only one that truly tempts me. I’ve been known to order the jr. double chocolate shake a time or two.
