The sun is still rising in the east and setting in the west. It’s one of those things you can count on. There’s yet another inevitable, count-on-it-too-hold-true fact — it’s the holidays, my kid had her first band performance last night and she was home yesterday with a fever, headache, cough. Took her to the doctor and she tested positive for strep. I am grateful she tested negative for the flu. She’s home again today. Now she’ll have a final to take on Wednesday and two finals to make up. :wallbash:
The poor little dumpling spent her first day of Spring Break having her tonsils out and the rest of Spring Break miserable during recovery. All because the doctors assured us removing the tonsils would be the end of her bouts of strep. This is her second strep since she had them out in April. :cursing: Where do I go for my refund?

Poor Girl!!!! Hope she feels better soon.

Poor Girl. And Poor Mom, too.
Removing tonsils will stop strep? Really? Hmmm, never heard that before. (Files information away.)
Am I the only person who’s amazed they can now test for flu and treat it? I thought it was just rest and chicken soup…

Thanks, Rhonda.
Kimberly, don’t file it away because it hasn’t worked. Yanked out the tonsils and we still have the strep.

Ditto on the Poor Girl and Poor Mom.
Removing tonsils will only eliminate tonsilitis.
Try getting Girl to wash her hands more often. I was reading an article the other day about how a lot of sickness can be avoided by frequent hand-washing. And you have to wash them long enough too — they tell kids to sing “Happy Birthday” twice while they wash their hands with soap and warm water.

Marilyn, I’m with you on the handwashing. I’d read something similar. Also don’t let a sick girl blow into your flute at a birthday party on Friday night. :fryingpan: Uh-huh. Yes, she did.

Singing the ABC’s all the way through gives you the appropriate length of handwashing as well. :cooldance:
