My husband and I agreed that it was better to spend sometime together instead of going to the trouble of buying each other gifts. I booked a weekend at Newport RI just for the two of us. I think that is been so far in 13 years the best Valentines gift that I ever have. I had an early Valentines celebration.

I bought stuff for his bathroom. Long story -- we have a bonus room over the garage that's his room -- office, art studio, music studio, workout room -- and it has a full bathroom. I'd put old stuff in there before. But after he got the elliptical trainer he started showering up there too. So for Valentine's he has a bag with new oversize bath towels and matching hand towels, a new shower scrubby, a pumice thingy to scrub his feet, a tissue box holder, a cup for his toothbrush and toothpaste and a liquid soap dispenser. And instead of battling the restaurant crowds tonight, we're grilling rib-eye steaks with all the trimmings including a "bloomin' onion" sort of appetizer I got at the grocery store. Oh yeah... and blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
