My Hope…

It is my fervant hope that there is a special section of Hell — the part where the flames are hottest and the bad things are at their ultimate worst — reserved for really-bad-content spammers (I am being very careful not to use any words that will flag this site for the really-bad-content and then I’ll truly be overwhelmed with it). 117 pieces of that…stuff… hitting my blog in less 24 hours. The day before that it was well over 200.:cursing:

Thank goodness there’s a very efficient program that catches most of these, otherwise I’d just have to pull the whole thing down, but there’s invariably a couple that somehow slip through that I have to manually delete.

What kind of worthless, piece-of-crap, human slug develops the makes-me-queasy/indignant/blush-just-to-read-the-subject-line posts and programs it to bombard people? I know computers and programs handle it but somewhere back down the line is a poor excuse of a person behind it all. I wish very, very bad things for them.

As for everyone else, enjoy your day.

  1. I know what you mean, Jen. I’ve had to change my site email because I’ve been inundated with nothing but junk. Argh!

  2. I’ve learned to deal with it, but of late, I’ve started not only getting emails advertising the usual nonsense like low cost enhancement products, but they’ve started including a picture so I can see the results. That’s where I draw the line. What if that was a child’s email account???? A special place in hell, indeed.

  3. I always have a seperate email account that I use for students–simply because they get mad and enter my email address at porn sites in revenge. Yikes!

Tons of email about unspeakable things….

  4. Oh, no! This isn’t my email account. This is my BLOG. Shows up in the comments section — right along with you ladies.

  5. It is scary how HUGE that industry must be to be as persistent and pervasive as it is… I wish there was a ‘get them back’ method that would cost them money and discourage their unwanted ’slithering’ into the decent world via our email, etc. Why isn’t there a ‘do not call/contact’ list for email?!

  6. That’s the equally disturbing part, Ellen. Obviously someone is responding enough to make it worth their while and dollar. Ack!

  7. Just want you to know that spam and who responds to it *was* going to be my blog topic for tomorrow.

Guess it’s back to the blog drawing board for a new topic :cursing:

  8. Heck, Kimberly, go for it. I’ll be glad to bitch about it again at The Playground tommorow.
