Me and the Kids

Pray for me. Today I’m chaperoning Girl’s field trip to a mineral museum.

“You’re only in charge of six kids, Mom.”

Uh…seems like a lot to me. :fryingpan:

  1. Only six, eh? You’re the bomb, Jen. No doubt you’ll need a :cocktail: when you get home.

  2. “Only six kids” would not relieve my mind any.

There’s a very good reason AC is an only child…

  3. I could manage six, as long as I could hang them from their ankles if they irritate me and talk to them like they’re 45. My mom once spent an entire trip to the zoo with some little boy upside down. I think he liked it.

  5. Nope not me because I couldn’t scare them like I do my nieces and nephews. You go girl… , I admire your courage. Have fun.

  6. I am sure you will have a great time!

Think of it as a different kind of ‘multi-tasking’. And bring duct-tape. Just in case.

  7. They were all so good!! I’m still sort of amazed. Usually when I chaperone I have one…or two…that makes me wish I’d brought duct-tape and the fear of God. They stayed where they were supposed to be, did what they were supposed to do and had a good time. :cooldance:

  8. I was always the field trip mom since I hate to bake cookies. Once I went to the Tremont Institute in the Smoky Mountains for a whole week with a group of 5th graders. Having an opposite sex child meant I had to bunk with the little girls and boy oh boy were my eyes opened. Boys may be rowdy but they’re not catty like little girls are. It was fun t hough — hiking every day, nature studies and one morning we woke up to snow! And best of all — I didn’t have to cook a single meal or wash a single dish.

  9. Marilyn, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I like my own child — not everyone else’s so much — definitely wouldn’t want to bunk a week with them.
