Jen 0 - Squirrels 2.
They’ve won.
A couple of years ago I brought a squirrel-proof bird feeder. Uh-huh. It took them about two-weeks to figure out how to brace their back feet on the pole and reach up and eat without their weight closing the hopper. One point to them.
Yesterday I finally tossed in the towel and gave them the other point and the win. I bought corn and put it into an empty feeder in the hopes that if they have their own corn, they’ll leave the bird seed alone. :wallbash:

Jen - If you are going to feed the squirrels, you should at least make it entertaining and purchase a squirrel-a-twirl. These rodent-like critters are so determined they will continue to climb on, only to be flung off time and time again. :happy2:
Available at your local ‘Birdwatcher Supply’. Check it out.

I may have to, Ellen. Although it’s fairly entertaining to see it standing on it’s head to eat out of the top of the corn feeder.

Damn squirrels. At least we don’t have them here at the new house — yet. But I have seen a crazy wabbit in my backyard. If that thing gets into my herb garden I’ll scream. My cat won’t go outside anymore so my built-in rodent repellant is gone. And I’m not getting another cat just for that. Maybe I’ll buy a BB gun.

:happy2: Too funny Marilyn. We have squirrels and some other little critters ALL over the campus here. And I do have a few in my yard at home too.
