Last night after kickboxing, Girl begged for Steak-n Shake for dinner. For you poor souls without a Steak-n Shake — it’s thin hamburger patties and fresh-made shakes. I am not a shake fan but I must confess I love their chocolate shakes. So, I ordered water, a salad with chicken, cranberries, grapes, walnuts with no dressing…and a junior chocolate shake (you know the portion size usually for the kiddie crowd).:cooldance:
Girl looked at me and said, “Mom, you’re having a shake and a salad? That’s just wrong.”
I thought it was rather brilliant.
:happy2:

Sounds good to me :thumbsup2: What was so wrong with it?

Girl thought it wrong not to get the hamburger to go with the shake. I did, however, snitch a mouthful or two of her chili-cheese fries.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that! I say scrimp on the calories over here to splurge on them over there.

I agree it’s a brilliant idea. Checks and balances, you know.
Ummm, now I’m craving a chocolate shake.

I vote brilliant as well. That salad sounds good. (And the shake.)

Ah, yes! You all all get it. I think she will too when she’s a little older.

We finally got a Steak and Shake here and the DH is in heaven. I have to admit they make a fine burger. And their vegetable soup is good too. But they are pricey. You get what you pay for, though. You don’t have to ask “Where’s the beef?” when you bite into your burger.

Marilyn, if they’re ever serving the chicken gumbo as the soup of the day…it’s delish.

I always feel dumb ordering a combo meal from a fast food place with a diet coke. What’s another 150 calories after the 1000 you’re about to ingest. Whatever, I like diet coke better.
At S&S, sometimes I get the kiddie meal with the shake. Just enough to make me happy.

When I was doing the DC, that was my meal of choice as well.
