My big insight during the movie: It must suck to be Harry Potter.

Why? He’s the MAN. Yes he does have a lot of incidents happen to him, but so does most of the glory.

No!! I’m not spoiling nothing. I know nothing. We just went to see the movie and while we were sitting there I thought, “it must suck to be Harry”. How’d you like to know from the time you were 9 that some bad-ass magic dude wanted to kill you? The same one that killed your folks? And his relatives are heinous. He’s always having to be brave and take on bad situations. That’s all I meant!!

Oh, good. I feel better now. I have a HP plan in place to avoid spoilers–which is getting damned difficult because even the NYT has posted an early review of the book. But I am DETERMINED to read the book without knowing Harry’s fate.

It does suck. Kid can’t catch a break. Its no wonder he’s so ticked off in the latest movie. I’d be pretty annoyed with my life too. Darn that whole fate thing…I’m glad my fate is free of evil wizards. At least, so far.

My brother and I had planned to go see HP in Finland while we were there, but for the life of us, we could not find a movie theater!
Finns apparently don’t “go to” movies as obsessively as we North Americans do.
I’m a-hopin’ to go see the movie this weekend with friends, though (if all goes well…
. And my mom has already pre-ordered the book, so she’ll be picking it up this weekend, too. Like Rhonda, I’m also avoiding all media mentions of Harry. I don’t want the end spoiled for me, either!!

It may suck to be Harry, but I’d sure love to be JK Rowling

Kris!! You’re back safe and sound — YAY! You’ll love the movie. And for the life of me, I can’t understand people who want to give endings away. The very first HP movie we went to, I took our then-secretary’s daughter with us. The first scene where the turbanned guy (can’t remember his name) shows up when Harry is with Hagrid, the kid looks at me and says “That’s the bad guy.” (unbeknownst to me she’d seen the movie a couple of days before) I wanted to KILL her. :fryingpan: :fryingpan: :fryingpan: I was pissed through the entire movie.
LOL, Kimberly. Isn’t that the truth?
