NOW She Shows Up

I’ve got to have a talk with my Muse. First of all, she goes serious AWOL on me. I mean, I’m showing up at the computer every day, but she doesn’t bother. Where is she and what is she doing? I’ve got no clue, I just know she isn’t hanging around here.

Yesterday, she just pops in. Bam. No explanation. No fanfare. She just shows up and plops down. Don’t get me wrong, I am to see her but it really works better when she doesn’t wait until 10:30 p.m. to arrive. I’m not a night person. My brain is fried by then but when she comes, hey, I have to sit up and pay attention. And I’ve learned the hard way that when she’s hanging around, stopping in the middle of a scene is a mistake. So, there we were typing away until nearly midnight.

That Muse is a real P.I.T.A. (pain in the ass for the uninitiated). Okay, forget the talk. I’m just darn grateful she showed up. Now, if she’ll just stay awhile….

  1. Showing up at 10:30 is a bit inconvenient, but she’s there. Woot! Write on, Jen!

  3. Now that she’s here, I’m chaining her to the keyboard along with me.

  4. Muses are so full of themselves, thinking they can just show up when they want…

  5. Kimberly, I’d kinda like to say something ugly about her her but for pity’s sake I don’t need her taking off again. So, I’m playing nice.

  6. Makes you wonder what kind of fun muses have with writers and artists alike. I mean are they really going while we poke uselessly at the keys? And do they expect us to go bald until they finally decide to show up with s?

So glad your muse came back to inspire you, Jen!

  7. You and me both, Kathy! And I think Muse has a very twisted sense of humour because I’m pretty sure you’re right about her sitting back and laughing at us.
