I’ve hit major crunch mode–and I’m not talking about a workout! I’m talking about the race to finish this book. I’m talking about abdication of most of life outside of writing–the plunge into junk food, wearing my pajamas all day, buzzing along on a couple of hours of sleep, and no one disturbs me unless it’s a matter of imminent death. And if it’s not imminent and you disturb me–well, it might be closer than you think. :O
BTW, never ask a writer racing toward a deadline–or at least, me–how it’s going. Clarity, along with sanity, isn’t particularly my stong point at this juncture. LOL.
Now, here’s the sort of sick part. Aside from wracked nerves and spending so many hours in front of the computer that I’m almost blind without my glasses, I have to confess, I sort of like crunch time. It’s the immersion into the story, the total focus, being in the groove, having the story own my soul up until the time I write The End.
So, I’m going to ground. Can’t guarantee that I’ll emerge to blog–but then again, I might need the break. If you leave me a message and I don’t get back right away, I promise I will. Though it may be next week.
In the meantime, enjoy the day!
I only like crunch time because it means I’m almost done with the beast and get to take a break! Why do I hate the process so much, LOL, when I love the product!

Love your web site. I laughed out loud a couple of times just reading some of the things on it. Why does that not surprise me. When are you going to write another book about the veterinarian. I loved it and she was so like me. ( In Billy’s wildest dreams!) Hope you all are well, keep us posted on Hannah’s racing adventures.

I don’t write books, but I write for work, so I know the pain and joy of writing under deadline. Hope it goes well! We’ll be here when you get back.

Alison, LOL! Was it Dorothy Parker who said, "I hate writing, but I love having written."? Some days that’s truer than others.

So glad to see you here, Julie. :hehe: We should try something novel, like getting together for lunch so that we could actually see one another when I’m not blubbering over one of my animals in your office.
Alyssa, you DO know my pain cause writing is writing is writing whether it’s a book or a software manual or any other piece.
