Speak Southern Please

My friend was visiting this weekend. She’s from California which means she doesn’t have much of any kind of accent. I guess it was the lack of Southern drawl that threw me off. We were in the kitchen enjoying a cup of tea and she walked past me to throw something in the garbage.

She returned to her chair and said, “Do you bathe often? Do you like vanilla?”

I’m quite alarmed. What? Do I stink? I thought she knew I took a shower just the night before. “Uh, yeah, pretty much every day. Ya know, I just took a shower last night. But I don’t like vanilla scented soaps. They sort of make me nauseous. Uh…do I stink? Does my hair look greasy?”

It’s her turn to look perplexed. “No, you don’t stink. I just wondered of you liked to bake because I’ve made my own vanilla extract and it’s really good.”

Light bulb goes off.:lightbulb: Oh! “I thought you asked if I bathed, not baked, often.”:happy2::happy2::happy2:
