A New Me

Yay! My hairdresser is back from maternity leave and I’ve got an appointment this afternoon. My hair is too long–I’m in serious danger of sporting a mullet — and the wrong color. I don’t know exactly what color it’ll be this afternoon, but it won’t be this color. Platinum has been floating in the back of my head but I think that’s too high-maintenance and I think I have the wrong skin tone to carry platinum, but maybe I’ll check with my girl. I’ve never done platinum.

UPDATE

Here’s the new cut and color

Ultimate Post-Thanksgiving Sandwich

I had this in a deli several years ago and it’s become one of mine and Girl’s fave after-Thanksgiving sandwiches. I know it sound like a weird flavor combo, but it works. Yummily so.

Cinnamon/raisin bread, toasted
Schmear of mayonnaise
Provolone or Swiss cheese (Girl used pepper jack and it was great)
Turkey
Slice of cranberry sauce
mixed greens

Use the above to make sandwich. Eat it. Delish.

Love This!

I love jewelry, particularly one-of-a-kind, and I love the beach, so I was tickled when I stumbled on KroSwift Original Jewelry.

This artist has collected all the shells used in this jewelry from Georgia beaches, hand painted all the scenes, and does all the beading and assembly herself. I’ve bought a piece for myself that I love and I’ve purchased several as gifts. I bought a cardinal necklace very similar to this one for my mother because Mom loves cardinals.

If you love shells and the beach, you might want to check out KroSwift Original Jewelry. (You have to click on the shells on her site to really get a good view of them, but I think they’re lovely.

Happy Thanksgiving

I don’t have any cool pictures or graphics or even a fun little Thanksgiving emoticon to wish you Happy Thanksgiving but the sentiment runs just as deep and true. May your heart be full and happy today. Happy Thanksgiving.

It’s All Eddie’s Fault

I’ve always been a rise-n-shine kind of gal. Morning — early morning — is my favorite time of day. I open my eyes, look at the clock and pop up out of bed. I’m up and making a small pot of tea, turning out the dogs, firing up the computer, making lunches, getting ready for the day.

That was then. Now, I wake up, look at the clock, and think “I could just lay here for another few minutes” which then somehow becomes half an hour. I’m not going back to sleep. I’m just luxuriating in laying in bed and it’s all Eddie’s fault. And no, the DH isn’t named Eddie.

I’m talking about Eddie Bauer. I bought his flannel sheets last year at the end of the season. People, they are one step beyond flannel. Some flannel feels thick and coarse and begins to pill up. Not Eddie’s. It is sublime. I’ve taken to laying in bed to the very last minute simply because the bed and sheets feel so heavenly. Eddie has turned me into a morning slacker. It’s all his fault.

Aren’t they lovely? This is the duvet and shams. It’s also the sheets but mine happen to be red.

Drawing a Blank

Most of the time, I’ve got plenty to say. Hardly a day rolls around when I don’t have something I want to slap up here for my say in the blogosphere. Today I’m drawing a great big blank. So, I apologize to those who stop by on a regular, or even an infrequent, basis. Today you’ve shown up for…nothing.

Be sure to stop in tomorrow when your regularly scheduled programming will resume.
